During the Mantoux test, a trained healthcare professional will inject a small amount of PPD solution just beneath the surface of your skin using a fine needle. The injection site is typically marked with a pen to ensure accurate interpretation of the test results.
After the injection, you will be asked to return to our clinic within 48 to 72 hours to have the test site examined. During this follow-up visit, our healthcare provider will measure the size of any induration (hardened bump) that has developed at the injection site. The size of the induration is an indicator of your body's immune response to the PPD solution and helps determine whether you have been exposed to TB infection.
